Magoodhoo Council was established under the Decentralisation Act of 2010-07. Prior to the establishment of the council, the Island Office was in operation and has now completed 62 years. The vision of the Magoodhoo Island Council is based on the vision of the island to be an exemplary island for the Maldives, where every resident of Magoodhoo grows up in good health, with a well-educated, self-sufficient education, and a loving Islamic community. Magoodhoo will always remain an exemplary island for the Maldives.
