Job Description

Location: Maldives (Gulf Craft Maldives)
Reporting to: Production Manager

Role Overview

Gulf Craft Maldives is seeking a detail-oriented QC Officer specializing in FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) to ensure quality standards across all stages of boat and yacht manufacturing.

This role is critical in maintaining the structural integrity, finish quality, and compliance of FRP components used in marine vessels. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in FRP processes and a strong understanding of quality control procedures within the marine or composites industry.

Key Responsibilities

FRP Inspection & Quality Control

• Inspect FRP works including lamination, molding, gelcoat application, and finishing
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
• Monitor critical processes such as resin mixing, curing, and layering

Process Monitoring & Compliance

• Conduct in-process and final inspections of hulls, decks, and FRP components
• Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Identify defects such as air bubbles, delamination, cracks, or surface imperfections

Testing & Documentation

• Perform basic quality tests (thickness checks, visual inspection, hardness checks, etc.)
• Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and quality records
• Report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis

Coordination & Reporting

• Work closely with production teams to ensure quality standards are met
• Provide feedback to supervisors on quality issues and improvements
• Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

Standards & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with marine quality standards and company guidelines
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in FRP processes
• Promote best practices for quality and workmanship

Candidate Profile

• 2–4 years of experience in QC/QA within the FRP or marine manufacturing industry
• Hands-on experience with FRP processes (lamination, gelcoat, molding)
• Basic understanding of marine construction and composite materials
• Based in the Maldives or willing to relocate

• Knowledge of FRP materials and defects identification
• Basic understanding of quality control tools and documentation
• Problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Good communication and reporting skills
• Ability to work in a production environment
