Job Description

General Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent sewing and tailoring skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to use different types of sewing equipment and tools
• Knowledge of various upholstery techniques, materials and tools
• Basic English language skills
• Physically fit to endure long working hours
• Ability to follow instructions and to work independently

 

Job Specification

• Sew, create, reproduce, label and modify facility provided clothing, linen and covers within the hospital standards
• Alter hospital-provided uniforms/clothing to fit better
• Install, fabricate and do the necessary repairs of hospital interior components such as drapes, equipment covers, seats and cushion fillings and covers, etc.

• Replace fabrics, fillings, and furniture components

• Maintain order and condition of work areas, tailoring equipment and materials, and of upholstery tools
• Assist in the proper inventory of uniforms, fabrics and other accessories
• Coordinate with the head of the department for ordering new uniforms & tailoring items
• Support laundry team whenever needed
• Any other relevant tasks as assigned by the Head of the Department
