Job Description

Duties and Essential Job Functions

• Manage day-to-day operations of the project at Hortifarm.
• Ensure all works at tunnels are carried out according to set procedures and guidelines.
• Report to Director on disease appearances in tunnels and technical faults that would disrupt and affect plants.
• Monitor the cleaning of the tunnels
• Update the information on the boards in the tunnels
• Monitor watering and fertilizing of open field plants are done on schedule and keep the fields clean
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• organise harvesting fruits and vegetables, pack and deliver to Fantasy storage in Male’.
• Arrange and handle all logistics of the project such as loading and unloading goods to the site etc.
• Maintain stocks of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides and tools
• Maintain and control the inventory of the project.
• Maintain and service machineries and equipment and keep them in running condition.
• Arrange regular servicing of generators and desalination plant.
• Ensure all the vessels are properly managed adhering to safety standards.
• Arrange maintenance of buildings and infrastructure on regular basis.
• Keep the island clean all the time.
• Keep the staff accommodation, kitchen and dining room clean and tidy all the time.
• Ensure employers follow the rules and procedures and take necessary action to those who do not follow them.
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts among the staff.
• Prepare menu and maintain quality and taste of the food provided to staff.
• Carry out other tasks relating to project expansion and development.
• Maintain staff attendance, OT and other administrative work.
• Under take and carry out any other duties/responsibilities assigned.
