Job Description

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist the Captain in operating and navigating the boat
  • Assume full responsibility for boat operations in the absence of the Captain.
  • Monitor weather, sea conditions, and boat performance
  • Ensure compliance with maritime laws and safety standards
  • Conduct safety briefings and drills
  • Maintain logs, reports, and trip records
  • Oversee vessel cleanliness and maintenance
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and project procedures.

Skills & Competencies

  • Licenses & Certification: Valid inboard and outboard boat licenses, and Coastal Navigation Level 2 (Niyami) certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years in a related maritime field, such as passenger transport or supply boat operation.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to maintain boat engines, equipment, and onboard systems to company standards.
  • Communication & Leadership: Strong English proficiency, safety-conscious attitude, and the ability to manage crews effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local maritime laws and safety regulations.
  • Good physical fitness
  • Experience in navigation, docking, and anchoring
  • Familiarity with local waters, tides, and weather conditions
  • Ability to work long hours in marine conditions
  • High attention to safety
