Job Description

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum O’Level / Secondary School Certificate.
• Prior cashier or retail experience is an advantage.
• Proficient in basic math and using POS systems.
• Honest, punctual, and detail oriented.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide a friendly checkout experience.
• Accurately scan, bill, and bag items using the POS system.
• Receive payments via cash, card, or digital payment and return correct change.
• Issue receipts, refunds, and gift vouchers as needed.
• Ensure correct pricing is applied for each product and report any discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cashier counter and immediate area.
• Balance cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift, ensuring proper handover.
• Report cash shortages, overages, or any irregular transactions immediately to the supervisor.
• Assist in wrapping or packing customer purchases when necessary.
• Handle basic customer inquiries or direct them to the appropriate department.
• Follow store policies for handling voided items, discounts, and promotions.
• Support floor operations during non-peak hours, such as restocking or tidying.
