Job Description

General Requirements

  • Board Certified / Unencumbered License or registration from home country
  • Minimum Post Graduate Specialist Degree, MS Otorhinolaryngology
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience or additional fellowship in Neuro-otology, vertigo and balance disorder preferred
  • Current BLS/ ACLS / PALS ATLS certification
  • Adaptable and able to work in a multicultural team
  • Flexible and able to manage stress
  • Must have worked in a hospital with no less than 150 bed capacity
  • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in English

 

Job Specification

  • Respond to patients’ medical problems by reviewing their history, physical examination and investigations, reaching to a probable diagnosis, appropriate evidence based treatment, counseling and referral where necessary
  • Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and the patient’s medical history
  • Order laboratory and Radiological investigations and interpret their results
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times
  • Perform Procedures as privileged
  • Prescribe or administer medications, therapy and other specialized care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
  • Educate patients about the advantages, disadvantages, risks and alternatives regarding a proposed treatment or operation
  • Explain procedures or prescribed treatments to patients
  • Provide general pre and post-operative care
  • Monitor and administer medication when indicated
  • Evaluate effectiveness of current care methods and procedures and suggest improvements
  • Keep General practitioners informed about care of their patients where indicated
  • Use resources efficiently for the benefit of patients and the public
  • Provide adequate follow-up to the patient within a reasonable amount of time
  • Examine and provide treatments to injuries and refer patients to other physicians when needed (ophthalmologists, orthopedists, neurologists etc.)
  • Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at TTH
