Job Description

Post: Development Pediatrician

Department: Child Development Center (Hulhumale’ Hospital)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENT

MD in the field of pediatrics with minimum 2 years of experience

SCOPE OF WORK

• Complete developmental evaluations and coordinate medication management for children with developmental and/or behavioral concerns, including children under the age of 16 years
• Skilled at medical (pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic) management, including but not limited to sleep cycle disturbance, enuresis and encopresis, violently aggressive behavior and impulsivity and inattention
• Able to work closely with our OT/PT and Speech providers to provide care to children with cerebral palsy, hypertonia and hypotonia, disorders of balance and coordination and with fine motor difficulties managing independent feeding and toileting
• Recommend appropriate follow-up services and help families navigate hot to access additional services as indicated, including keeping abreast of resources within and outside of HMH specifically for children with developmental delays to facilitate referrals effectively
• Collaborate with other clinic staff of all levels and disciplines in order to provide true team based interdisciplinary care for patients and their families
• Work with the entire CDC team to innovate ways to address gaps in service, unmet treatment needs, and innovative strategies to enhance the development of programs that best serve our patients
• Remain well-informed of research around best practices in child developmental assessment and treatment, and participate with regional and. Or national work groups/ professional organizations focused on child development and / or child psychology
• Participate in monthly section and department meetings, and participate in education activities
