Job Description

PURPOSE:

To carryout roles and responsibilities of a Duty Technician as per the guidelines from the Supervisor and Manager.

Responsibilties:

- Be familiar with all equipment involved in program controlling.
- Check all equipment is in working order and notify Engineering team of any shortcomings
- Regularly check services/Channels for any reception problems and inform accordingly
- Regularly check if encryption is applied to all services
- Record the picture and sound quality of channels and notify the senior program controller of any shortcomings
- Ensure that prayer time notifications are done on time
- Be familiar with what type of program and content should and should not be censored.
- Ensure that program and content are censored as indicated in the rules and regulations of our operations. In addition, contact supervisor in case of doubt on whether a program should censor or not.
- Check whether program schedules actually tally with program that are shown and notify the relevant departments of any changes.
- Provide information on upcoming highlight program to Marketing departments if required.
- Monitoring and health of core networks
Monitoring IPTV and OTT services
- Remote troubleshooting of core equipment installed at remote locations
- Monitoring reception of satellite uplinks and downlinks
- Communicate with partners with downtimes/maintenance activities
- Be available on call at all times.

Personal Requirements:

A'level or Diploma in IT related Field
Degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
Must have at least 1 year experience in the similar role
Must be familiar with Word, Excel, Email and Internet
