General Requirements

• Completed GCE A’ Level education or above
• Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in related field
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Specification

• Work with Chief and Assistant Chief Medical Lab Technologist in managing the daily lab operations in terms of stock, staffing, services and other daily issues
• Communicate with warehouse, procurement and finance regarding stock management
• Communicate with lab technologists and lab assistants regarding referral lab test process
• Communicate with HR and relevant team members regarding the daily staff schedule and rostering
• Assist in administrative tasks related to daily, weekly, monthly events, meetings and reports
• Ensure copies of all forms used for phlebotomy and blood banking are kept available at all times
• Be familiar with and apply all hospital policies
• Display courteous, sympathetic, professional manner towards patients, co-workers, nursing and medical staff
• Follow standard precautions including universal safety precautions wherever applicable
• Keep laboratory area neat and ensure all supplies are sufficiently replenished
• Maintain par levels of inventory in Phlebotomy section and other sections
• Complete assigned duties efficiently and in a timely manner
• Prioritize the tasks appropriately
• Assist in transporting the samples to other labs when necessary
• Seek guidance and direction when necessary
• Demonstrate the value of team concept on a consistent basis
• Assist Laboratory Technologists where necessary
• Perform all delegated tasks as given out by the Chief Medical Laboratory Technologist or designee
