Job Description

Job Summary

The Lead Researcher at Maldives Business School is responsible for spearheading research initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, and contributing to the academic and professional growth of the institution. This role involves leading research projects, mentoring junior researchers, publishing high-quality academic work, and building partnerships with industry and academia. The Lead Researcher will ensure that research activities align with the school’s mission to enhance knowledge and support evidence-based practices in business and education.

 

Key Responsible Areas

  1. Research Leadership

    • Develop and oversee strategic research agendas that align with the institution's goals.
    • Lead interdisciplinary research projects to generate impactful and innovative outcomes.
  2. Publication and Dissemination

    • Publish high-quality research in reputed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
    • Promote the visibility of the school’s research output through various channels.
  3. Mentorship and Development

    • Mentor faculty, staff, and students in research methodologies and practices.
    • Provide guidance for proposal writing, data analysis, and publication.
  4. Collaboration and Networking

    • Build and sustain partnerships with industry, academia, and governmental bodies for collaborative research.
    • Represent the institution in research-oriented forums and committees.
  5. Grants and Funding

    • Identify funding opportunities and lead grant applications to secure research funding.
    • Manage research budgets and ensure compliance with funding requirements.
  6. Ethics and Standards

    • Ensure research adheres to ethical standards and institutional policies.
    • Promote a culture of integrity, quality, and accountability in research practices.
  7. Research Capacity Building

    • Organize workshops, seminars, and training sessions to build research capacity within the institution.
    • Develop resources and tools to facilitate research for faculty and students.
  8. Institutional Contribution

    • Contribute to the development of policies and frameworks that promote research excellence.
    • Collaborate with academic teams to integrate research insights into curriculum development.

 

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements

    • A PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Business, Education, Social Sciences, or other areas aligned with the institution’s focus).
    • Strong academic background with a proven track record in research and publication.
  • Experience

    • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in leading research projects in academic or industry settings.
    • Demonstrated ability to secure research grants and funding.
    • Experience mentoring faculty, students, or junior researchers.
  • Skills and Competencies

    • Expertise in research methodologies, data analysis, and academic writing.
    • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and networking.
    • Ability to navigate interdisciplinary research and build partnerships.
    • Proficiency in research tools, software, and platforms for data analysis and publishing.
  • Knowledge

    • In-depth understanding of research ethics and best practices.
    • Familiarity with academic publishing processes and requirements.
    • Awareness of trends and advancements in the relevant research domain.
