Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) PLC, established in January 2004, is the only specialized housing finance institution in the Maldives. HDFC is a privatized company with International Shareholders represented by the International Finance Corporation (IFC of World Bank Group), Asian Development Bank, and HDFC Bank Ltd. of India, jointly holding 51% of shares.

Job Title: Manager – Credit

 Job Description

1. Credit Operations Management

• Review and analyze credit proposals and recommend approval based on policy guidelines.
• Ensure timely processing and disbursement of credit facilities.

1. Compliance and Policy Implementation

• Ensure compliance with internal credit policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Support in reviewing and updating credit policies and SOPs.
• Conduct periodic checks to ensure adherence to underwriting standards.

1. Risk Monitoring and Reporting

• Identify emerging credit risks and support the management or mitigation of such risks.
• Assist in the preparation of credit reports and portfolio analysis.
• Maintain accurate credit files and documentation for audit and regulatory purposes

1. Customer Service and Internal Coordination

• Manage customer concerns and ensure timely resolution.
• Conduct periodic credit review of existing customers.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless credit processing and recovery operations.
• Support customer education on credit products and responsible borrowing.

1. Strategic Contribution and System Improvement

• Contribute to credit product development and process improvements.
• Support digitalization and automation initiatives within credit operations.
• Participate in internal committees and working groups.

1. Supervision and Team Support

• Supervise day-to-day activities of Credit Officers and Analysts.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
• Delegate tasks and ensure efficient workflow within the department.

Job Requirements & other competencies

• Bachelor's degree in finance, Banking, Business Administration, Economics, or related field.
• Professional certifications in credit analysis or risk management would be an advantage.

• 5–7 years of experience in credit or lending functions with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity within a financial institution.

Salary: Salary ranging from MVR 26,000 to MVR 27,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Working Hours: The selected candidate will be required to work from 08:00 to 16:00 hrs., from Sunday – Thursday.
