Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct comprehensive marine surveys, including hydrographic, geophysical, environmental, and habitat assessments, using a variety of state-of-the-art equipment and technologies.
  •  
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex marine data.
  • Prepare detailed reports, maps, charts, and other visual aids to effectively communicate survey findings and recommendations.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of human activities and natural events on marine ecosystems and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the highest quality of service and technical expertise.
  • Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, and training programs to continuously improve professional skills and expand industry networks.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marine science, Oceanography, Hydrography, or a related field would be an added advantage.
  • Should be a confident swimmer and snorkeler, capable of diving to atleast 5m.
  • Should have a scuba diving license.  
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in coral reef health monitoring protocols or in a similar role.
  • Proficient in the use of marine survey equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with local, national, and international regulations and guidelines related to marine environment.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel, as required, for project work and training purposes.
