Job Description

What You’ll Do

  • Accurately dispense prescription and OTC medications in accordance with established protocols.
  • Counsel patients on correct medication usage, dosage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Review prescriptions for clinical accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness before dispensing.
  • Assist patients in selecting suitable OTC products based on their symptoms and health needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient medication records and uphold strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Ensure full compliance with MFDA regulations, including proper maintenance of controlled substance records.
  • Monitor stock levels, manage expiry dates, and ensure correct cold-chain storage conditions.
  • Supervise and guide pharmacy assistants, supporting their day-to-day work and professional development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or equivalent degree from a recognised institution.
  • Valid pharmacist registration or licence recognised by the Maldives Medical Council (MMC) or MFDA.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting; fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Sound knowledge of pharmaceutical products, drug classifications, therapeutic uses, and dosage forms.
  • Proficiency in dispensing software and basic computer applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical information clearly and simply.
  • Proficiency in English is required; fluency in Dhivehi is a strong advantage.
