Job Description

We are looking for a competitive retail shop assistant to help customers identify and purchase products they desire. Sales Assistant duties include selling, restocking and merchandising. The goal is to provide high class customer service and to increase company’s growth and revenue through sales maximization.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
• Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards
• Maintain a fully stocked store; liaise with sales and marketing officers on shop inventory
• Ascertain customers’ needs and wants
• Recommend and display items that match customer needs
• Manage point-of-sale processes
• Keep up to date with product information
• Accurately describe product features and benefits
• Follow all companies policies and procedures
• Plan and execute events for the shop with local authors and artists
• Plan and execute activities for Kids Corner of the shop
• Fairs, Pop-up shops and Brand Representation
  • Will be required to work additional hours/weekends for any participating fairs/pop-up shops
  • Will be compensated accordingly with over-time/replacement leave
  • Will be required to dress in formal/smart attire for events depending on requirement

Requirements and skills

• Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
• Proficiency in English and Dhivehi
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Customer service focus
• Friendly, helpful, confident and engaging personality
• Basic administration skills

Proven working experience in retail sales an added bonus
