Job Description

Safari Boat Captain – Safari Operations

• Responsible for the boat and safety of all crew and guests onboard.
• Ensure smooth travelling, taking into consideration all safety measures.
• Prepare and allocate work for the crew onboard.
• Maintain boats at seaworthy condition at all times for any trip.
• Lead crew by example.
• Captain to decide on safe harbors for the boats during trips.
• Responsibility of maintaining general good condition of the boat at all times.
• Discuss with the cook and supplies department in organizing supplies for upcoming trips.
• Work closely with Safari Operations team, maintenance department, Male office team and airport staff.
• Act as tour guide on trips where necessary.
• Keep records of use of power source (Gen Set, Main Engine) onboard the boat.
• Responsibe for keeping the costs at a minimum regarding all aspects of operation of the boat.
• Responsible for the safety of the boat and its equipment at all times.
• Attend to any other work required by Company.
