Job Description

 

  • Determining the root causes and nature of learning difficulties.
  • Performing screenings to detect areas of strengths and weaknesses of the students.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as psychologists, therapists and parents to develop personalized Individualised IEPs for each student, outlining the special goals, accommodations and modifications.
  • Adapt to the general education curriculum to meet the unique needs of the students with disabilities.
  • Design and implement instructional strategies and materials that address individual learning styles and abilities.
  • Teaching a small group of students inside and outside of the classroom.
  • Preparing and executing lessons and resources based on the curriculum.
  • Assessing the students’ work done in class.
  • Developing and adapting individualized teaching methods that are suitable for each student.
  • Using special tools and equipments provided to stimulate an interesting learning environment.
  • Develop measurable objectives to track progress.
  • Regularly assess students’ progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Use formal and informal assessments to measure academic achievement, behavior, and social skills development.
  • Develop measurable objectives to track progress.
  • Collaborate with therapists to implement IEP and support strategies.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings to share insights and coordinate interventions.
  • Updating parents on their kid’s progress and developing homework to promote a better learning environment at home.
  • Keep detailed records relating to student's conditions, care plans and progress.
  • Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers or medical professionals
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor
