Job Description

Farudhun Media is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Journalist. If you are a dynamic writer with a passion for impactful journalism and timely reporting, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

1. News Writing and Reporting
2. Collaborate with the editorial team for real-time coverage during critical events.
3. Content Development: Generate Story ideas and pitch creative concepts. Conduct Interviews for feature pieces. 
4. Editorial Collaboration: Work closely with editors to develop news angles and story plans
5. Oversight and Approval
6. Research and Fact-Checking
7. Teamwork: Cordinate with writers, editors, and visual content teams
8. Deadline Management
9. Ethical Journalism
10. Community Engagement
11. Continuous learning
12. Adaptibility: Stay agile with shifting priorities and topics
13. Mulitimedia Management

 

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in journalism
• Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
• Strong news judgment and attention to detail
• Ability to lead and support a newsroom team
• Familiarity with digital content and social media engagement

Qualifications:

• Minimum Diploma or Degree in Media and Public Relations / Journalism
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a relevant field
• Ability to work on shift duties
• Excellent Dhivehi writing skills
• Fluent in spoken Dhivehi
• Able to research and find new stories
• Previous Experience in a similar field will be an added advantage
