STEM Education Assistant Role Overview

Sentech Maldives – Empowering the Next Generation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics

Position Summary

Sentech Maldives is seeking enthusiastic and responsible STEM Education Assistants to join our dynamic team supporting hands-on science, robotics, coding, and technology programs designed for children and teens. As a STEM Education Assistant, you will collaborate closely with our lead instructors, helping to deliver engaging, activity-based learning experiences while also contributing to the company’s operations, marketing, and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

STEM Education & Training

• Assist lead instructors during STEM classes, workshops, and camps.
• Help with classroom setup and pack-down, including organizing equipment and learning materials.
• Guide small groups of students through experiments, robotics, and coding activities.
• Support students who need extra help following instructions or completing tasks.
• Provide basic technical support for laptops, tablets, robots, and other devices.
• Maintain a positive, encouraging, and student-friendly atmosphere during all sessions.
• Conduct independent sessions and workshops as your skills and experience grow.

Business, Operations & Digital Support

• Support Sentech Maldives with sales and marketing activities.
• Assist in managing social media platforms and help create educational or marketing content.
• Contribute to the maintenance and operations of Sentech’s online store.
• Work closely with operations managers and staff to ensure smooth day-to-day business activities.
• Provide general operational assistance as needed for business continuity.

Working Hours

• Primarily after-school hours, evenings, weekends, and school holidays.
• Part-time positions available; full-time positions may be offered to strong candidates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Age Requirement

• Applicants must be 18 years or older.

Minimum Qualifications

• A-Level or Certificate in Science, Engineering, ICT, Education, Business, or related fields.
• A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Education, ICT, or Business fields is an added advantage.

Experience

• No strict minimum experience required.
• Experience in teaching, tutoring, STEM programs, or working with children is a plus.
• Experience with social media, content creation, marketing, or sales is an added advantage.

Skills and Attributes

• Strong interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
• Comfortable using computers, tablets, and basic educational technology.
• Good communication skills in both English and Dhivehi.
• Creativity and interest in digital content, social media, and online platforms.
• Patient, friendly, and child-focused attitude.
• Ability to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and during school holidays.
• Willingness to learn and grow, including independently conducting sessions over time.
